Kathryn Healy Hester

Attorney Kathryn Healy Hester is a shareholder in the firm of Watkins, Ludlam Winter and Stennis in Jackson, Miss. She earned a bachelor's degree in history, English and French from the University of Mississippi in 1965. She continued graduate studies in French at the University of Paris (Sorbonne) before moving back to Mississippi to work as a fiscal analyst for the state. She then returned to Ole Miss, where she earned a juris doctor degree and was editor of the Mississippi Law Journal.

Throughout her career, she has received numerous honors and awards. She was selected a fellow in the Mississippi Bar Foundation in 1992 and was Honorary French Consul for Mississippi for eight years. She was named barrister in the Charles Clark American Inn of Court and later chosen as bencher; as well as president and board member of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. She also was a member of the board of directors, Jackson Touchdown Club; board chair, Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation; commissioner, Mississippi Arts commission; and member, Junior League of Jackson.
