Keith McLean

Keith Dockery McLean, a 1936 graduate of Ole Miss with a bachelor's degree in music, has devoted the majority of her time to community service projects. However, one of her proudest accomplishments is related to the agribusiness world. For more than a decade (1982-94), she and her daughters successfully managed a large family farm that produced cotton, rice and soybeans. As a volunteer, McLean focused most of her energies toward the arts. She served on the first board of the Mississippi Arts Commission and was a 40-year member of the Metropolitan Opera National Council, which oversees auditions at both regional and national levels.

While at Ole Miss, McLean was instrumental in creating a chapter of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She now serves on the Executive Committee of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at Ole Miss and is an emeritus board member of Mississippians for Educational Broadcasting.
