Lindsay Rogers
Sarah Meisenheimer Council Scholar

“The most important lesson that I have learned in life is to always put forth 110% in everything you do.”

Lindsay Rogers is one of those students often referred to as the “cream of the crop.” This scholar not only possessed the leadership skills and compassionate service to earn a spot as a Women’s Council Scholar, she was also selected as a top ten early-entry pharmacy student and a Lucky Day Scholar. It seems everyone on campus can recognize the potential in this special student. Getting to campus, however, was not something Rogers took for granted. In fact, it seemed like a dream. “Ole Miss had always been a ‘dream’ school to me as I was growing up,” she says. “However, I never thought that I would actually go to school here. This scholarship has provided me with the opportunity to attend this prestigious school.”

Rogers is currently in her P3 year of pharmacy school here at Ole Miss. After finishing her doctorate in pharmacy at the Jackson campus, she plans to work as a pharmacist in either a hospital or retail setting because she says she wants to be an aid to others. Accomplishing this goal, she says, will be helped along significantly by the Leadership-Mentorship Program. “The Leadership-Mentorship Program will not only benefit me in strengthening my leadership skills, but will also aid in strengthening my decision-making. Also, I feel that I will become stronger in my communication skills. Learning leadership skills definitely is an important component of higher education. In our world today, the individuals who have strong leadership and communication skills are the ones who emerge as leaders in our country and in the work force.”

*favorite Bible verse that keeps me going: Hebrews 11:1,3

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see… By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”
