A native of Grenada, Mississippi, Mary Sharp Rayner has been Officer Manager and Financial Manager of Rayner Eye Clinic over the past thirty years. Her degree from Ole Miss in 1964 was in Secondary Education. She taught History, Speech, and English for several years in the Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN School Systems. Since moving to Oxford in 1971, Rayner has been active in her community, University, and Oxford University Methodist Church. She was on the founding boards of Yoknapatawpha Arts Council and first Oxford Little Theatre. She has served on the Boards of the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Baptist North Mississippi Advisory and currently serving on the board of Oxford-University Bank. She has been very active in her collegiate sorority, Delta Delta Delta, serving in many advisory capacities locally and as a national officer. In her church, she has served on various committees and the Administrative Board numerous terms. At present, she is on the building for life committee, overseeing the construction of a new multi-purpose facility. Serving as President of the Ole Miss Alumni Association 2002-2003, she is still very active in alumni affairs as a member of the Campaign for the Inn at Ole Miss. Rayner also enjoys serving on the Foundation Board
