Tina Kimble
Gertrude Hudson Turner Council Scholar

Tina Kimble says the Ole Miss Women’s Council is making her college experience “a lot easier” and is grateful for the opportunities it provides.

“If I had not received this scholarship,” she says. “I would not be at Ole Miss. I truly feel it is a blessing to be part of such a wonderful group.”

Kimble is an elementary education major from Coffeeville, MS. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and become an academic counselor, so that she can help others discover their potential and pursue their dreams through education. She is also finding out that getting to know her fellow scholars and spending time with her mentor are a few of the special benefits of being a Women’s Council Scholar. “Every moment with them is spectacular. My favorite think about being a scholar is the warm loving relationship that was formed on day one,” she says.

In addition to her devotion to academics and new friends, Kimble is an avid proponent of one of the Women’s Council’s cornerstones: volunteerism. “I enjoy volunteering with anything I can get my hands on,” she says. “I enjoy working throughout my church and community. I love to help others make a positive difference in their lives.”
